We all know how important storytelling is in business, and in life.

I thought I’d share 2 simple frameworks you can implement, today.

One of them I learned in improv, the other I learned in a book that you should read (more on this below).

7-sentence Storytelling Framework

Need to write a LinkedIn post? Demo a feature? Create a presentation for your SKO?

Here's a framework you can use to touch those emotions. It's called the 7-sentence story structure:

  1. Once upon a time....

  2. And every day....

  3. Until one day...

  4. Because of this...

  5. Because of that...

  6. Until finally...

  7. And ever since that day...

I learned this in an improv class. 

You'll see this framework used in most Disney movies. Whenever I'm stuck in writing some content, I think of an experience that taught me something new, and fill in the blanks above.

Building a Story Brand Framework

Here's another framework for B2B storytelling created by Donald Miller, author of "Building a Story Brand". If you haven't read it yet, I'd highly recommend it.

  1. A character

  2. With a problem

  3. Meets a guide

  4. Who gives them a plan

  5. And calls them to action

  6. That Helps Them Avoid Failure

  7. And Ends in a Success
