Good morning, this is the Not Boring Personal Branding Newsletter. Your weekly tour guide for all things personal branding.
In Today’s edition:
2 Proven Storytelling Frameworks
3 days left to register for the March Brand30 cohort (don't forget to use our exclusive code "BRAND10" for 10% off if interested
)
1. The 7-sentence Storytelling Framework
Need to write a LinkedIn post? Demo a feature? Create a presentation for your SKO?
Here's a framework you can use to touch those emotions. It's called the 7-sentence story structure:
Once upon a time....
And every day....
Until one day...
Because of this...
Because of that...
Until finally...
And ever since that day...
Start with these on your page. Then fill in the blanks.
I learned this in an improv class.
You'll see this framework used in most Disney movies. Whenever I'm stuck in writing some content, I think of an experience that taught me something new, and fill in the blanks above.
2. Building a Story Brand Framework
Another framework for Storytelling created by Donald Miller, author of "Building a Story Brand".
If you haven't read it yet, I'd highly recommend it.
Here's the 7 part framework:
A character
With a problem
Meets a guide
Who gives them a plan
And calls them to action
That Helps Them Avoid Failure
And Ends in a Success
Here is a video where I used this framework to create a script in ~20 minutes:
