🌊Wave #15: How to prospect CMOs

By Andrew Mewborn

Buenos Dias ☀️ Hope you had some great weekend plans in store.

Two things:

Now, you may not like Tequila, but “If you like piña coladas” 🍹 read below 😜

🌊 SET #1

How to prospect CMOs

Read 157 words below.

Tom Wentworth is the CMO of Recorded Future.

I heard him on a podcast with Dave G. and had to have him on the Outreach podcast.

Me: "Your podcast with Dave was awesome."

Tom: "Hey thanks!"

Me: "Can't believe 40-50% of new logo is generated through your daily newsletter! Insane!"

Tom: "It used to be, not quite that anymore 🤣"

Me: "We should get you on the Outreach podcast to talk more about tools/tactics you leverage to help BDRs"

Tom: "Darn right you should! :)"

But, this isn't how to prospect CMOs. I actually asked Tom this on the podcast, and you won't believe his answer. It's more simple than you think.... I'll give you a hint... It has to do with leveraging FOMO.

F - Fear

O - Of

M - Missing

O - Out

Read the podcast transcript below. (the actual podcast episode isn't released yet. I'm sharing this transcript with revenue surfing members only).

🌊 SET #2

The 9/10 rule for building your LinkedIn following

Read 91 words below.

Jonathan Palmar has ~60k followers on LinkedIn. He grew this audience in ~1 year.

When asked "How?" on a podcast interview, he responded with the following:

"For every 1 LinkedIn post that I make, I make sure to also leave a thoughtful comment on 9 others."

The Takeaway:

1) Write 1 post per day, and

2) Leave a thoughtful comment on 9 other posts per day

A great strategy for you to put in place next week.

PS - Take note of the "thoughtful" comment... "Nice" or "thanks for sharing" doesn't count!

🌊 SET #3

Uh oh, your champion is angry at you

Read 67 words below.

Yesterday I attended Jamal Raimer's masterclass.

Someone said, "I recently made my champion frustrated... How do I handle that?"

Jamal's response: "If your champion shows frustration or agitation, that means they are in the game. If they show apathy, that's not good."

(Not saying to make your champion frustrated on purpose 😂)

It's another signal you can use to determine if your deal is real or not. Also, go figure out how to make them feel like the hero. Be a great guide.
