JetBlue's Potential Takeover of Spirit Airlines: No Monopoly on Delayed Flights and Lost Luggage for You!
Alright, alright, alright! It looks like we've got some spicy news from the Justice Department, folks. Apparently, they're not too keen on JetBlue and Spirit Airlines getting together and making beautiful airline babies. They've sued to block JetBlue's planned $3.8 billion takeover of Spirit Airlines. Now, I don't know about you, but I've never been a big fan of airline takeovers. They always make me feel like I'm being held hostage by a giant metal bird.
But seriously, this is a big deal. I mean, $3.8 billion is a lot of money. You could buy a lot of snacks on a JetBlue flight with that kind of cash. And you know what's even crazier? JetBlue was already the largest airline at JFK airport, and now they want to gobble up Spirit too? It's like they're trying to create a monopoly on delayed flights and lost luggage.
As someone who travels a lot, I can tell you that airline mergers never go smoothly. I once flew on a merged airline where they had two different types of pretzels on the same flight. It was chaos, I tell you. And don't even get me started on the baggage fees. I feel like I need a degree in calculus just to figure out how much I'm going to pay to bring my underwear on a plane.
So, let's see how this whole JetBlue and Spirit Airlines thing plays out. Personally, I'm just hoping they don't end up creating some kind of Frankenstein's monster airline that charges me $50 for a glass of water. Because that's just cruel, people. That's just cruel.

3 Writing Tips I Wish I Knew 3 Years Ago
Sometimes it’s the simple advice that has the biggest results.
So today I want to share with you 3 writing tips that I knew 3 years ago when I started writing online. If you take these and implement them, your writing will change forever.
Let’s dive in:
3 Writing Tips I Wish I Knew 3 Years Ago
By implementing these techniques, you should:
• Make your writing more digestible for the reader
• Get into the groove of writing and putting your thoughts on paper much faster
• You’ll be more excited to create & publish online on a consistent basis
Here you go:
# 1. Write First. Edit Second.
Writing is one part of the brain.
Editing is another part of the brain.
Too often we try and do both at the same time.
But, they are different functions.
Try this:
- Write your content
- Make yourself a margarita
- Edit the piece
- Hit Publish
If you want to drive yourself mad, try and write and edit at the same time.
(*now it’s time for me to make my own margarita*)
# 2. Write to 1 Person.
Most people want to go viral so they try and write for everyone.
They think that if they only write about things they know, no one will listen.
It’s more important to know who you aren’t writing for, than who you are writing for.
So use specificity to your advantage.
What’s obvious to you is GOLD to others.
In Brand30, we teach members to write down the following before doing anything:
- What problem am I solving?
- Who am I solving the problem for?
- What are the benefits they’ll get by solving this problem?
This is how to 10x your writing.
And this concept doesn’t only work for LinkedIn posts.
It works for any form of digital writing like cold emails, Slacks to your boss, etc.
(*halfway through my margarita now*)
# 3. Read everything you write out loud.
This sounds freaking weird.
But it works.
If you need to, give your partner a warning so they don’t think you are going crazy
Here’s what you want to notice when reading aloud:
- Hard-to-read sentences
- Words that don’t sound like you
- Areas that sound choppy
It’ll take you a couple of minutes, but you’ll give yourself a pat on the back after.
You’ll find mistakes you’ll never know you could have made.
(*okay I’m done with the margarita time to hit publish*)
