NYC's New Airbnb Law: Where Finding a Listing is Tougher than Hailing a Cab in the Rain!
Ever tried booking an Airbnb in NYC?
It’s like hunting for the last pair of designer shoes on sale.
But now?
It might just be the BIG city's limited edition experience!
So, 38,500 listings.
Sounds like plenty, right?
But with this new law...
NYC might just have more pigeons than Airbnbs!
Airbnb's calling it a "de facto ban".
Well, if that's the case...
I'm calling my couch a "de facto Ritz Carlton".
Hosts now need to register with the city.
Like a golden ticket to the Willy Wonka's of short-term rentals.
But here’s the kicker:
Only 257 got the golden ticket out of 3,250.
That's worse odds than getting a taxi in the rain!
Listing not registered?
Platform gets slapped with up to a $1,500 fine.
Hosts?
Could be lighter by 5 grand!
The cost of doing unregistered business in NYC?
Pricey.
The debate's as heated as a New York slice.
Is the city favoring hotels?
Or are they just trying to un-clog the Big Apple’s real estate arteries?
Either way, hosts looking to make some side cash...
Better check those T&Cs!
