Step 1: Strategic Input Before you even touch AI, spend 2 minutes researching:
Recent company news (funding, acquisitions, leadership changes)
Specific pain points for their industry
The actual human you're emailing (LinkedIn posts, interviews, podcasts)
Step 2: Precision Prompting Instead of "write me an email," you give AI surgical instructions.
Here's the exact prompt template I use now:
You're helping me write an outreach email to [FIRST NAME] at [COMPANY].
Context that matters:
- They just [RECENT COMPANY EVENT]
- Their role involves [SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY FROM RESEARCH]
- Our solution helps companies like theirs [SPECIFIC RELEVANT OUTCOME]
Write a 3-paragraph email that:
1. References their [SPECIFIC CONTEXT] in the first line
2. Connects that to a problem they're likely facing
3. Offers a specific insight or resource (not a sales pitch)
Tone: Conversational but informed. Like a peer reaching out with helpful info.
Length: Under 100 words.
Step 3: The 30-Second Gut Check Before hitting send, ask yourself:
Does this sound like ME?
Would I read this if I got it?
Is there one surprising/valuable element?
If you answer "no" to any of these, spend 30 seconds tweaking it.
Why This Framework Actually Works
The lazy way treats AI like a content factory.
The hybrid method treats it like a brilliant intern who needs good direction.
Here's the psychology: Enterprise buyers get 100+ emails a day. Their BS detector is finely tuned. When you send pure AI content, it triggers their "this is mass outreach" alarm.
But when you blend AI efficiency with human insight?
Magic happens.
You get the speed of AI with the authenticity that closes deals.
Results From The Real World
Remember that $50K deal I lost?
